Iota Cycle -- This novel, my first, was published by Silverthought Press in June of
2006. Long story short, it's the tale of a colony of humans trying to build a world
around another star, fifty-six light years from Earth. It's hard sci-fi, with some
action, some humor, some romance. A little of everything.
It won the award for best Science Fiction novel from the DIY Festival in 2006. It
also won an Honorable Mention in the Science Fiction category of the 2007 New
York Book Festival
One chapter of this book, Fall, was previously published online at SFFWorld.com
where it won First Place in their 2005 short fiction competition.

Silverthought: Ignition was one of the debut releases of Silverthought Press in
2005. My story, Athens 3004, appeared in this anthology along with a variety of
other excellent short fiction.
Mine is the story of a potential scandal during the 3004 Olympic Games, held
once again in Athens. A former athlete must determine if a handful of exceptional
competitors are merely skilled, or are using illicit methods to enhance their
abilities.

I have several short stories that have been published on silverthought.com, the webspace
that is the online component of Silverthought Press.
- Two and a Half - A genie offers to fulfill a very unusual wish.
- The Hill - A man looks back on a very long life. Also, there's a death robot.
- The Abduction - This is my first entry into the site's night.blind collaboration,
exploring the nature of remote viewing. Several authors are coming at the loosely
connected narrative from very different directions. The story of Jason Alaniz
continues in Orientation, at the same link.
- Heliopause - A scientist brings Earth into a very new stage of development.
- Olympic Cold Storage - A hostage situation takes a supernatural turn.
- Life in the Year Two Thousand - An Eighteenth Century gentleman sleeps his way
to the year 2000... but not the 2000 you know and love.
- Junior - Alien pet hijinks!

Night Trial -- Anotherealm.com published this short story in
2005. A man, accused of murder, contemplates his fate as his
legal defense disintegrates. But who -- or what -- did he kill?
The Faeries in the Front Garden -- Faced with the image to the right, and the
task to write a story about it, I wrote a short-short about a dotty old author who
can't seem to separate reality from the created worlds of his books.
Byzarium.com published the story.
Sitting on the Dock -- This was one of my first short stories, and my first web
credit, back when Scifantastic was just a web presence. Now it's a full fledged
magazine. (Way to go, Sarah!)
My first print credits were with Scott Lyerly's "The SiNK: A Literary Journal
Considering All Things". Sadly, The SiNK is no more.
- Summer -- This is another short that made its way into Iota Cycle. It's a
story of a girl struggling with romance in the face of deep-seated childhood
trauma. And there's some neato-jet sci-fi stuff, too.
- Tragedy at 12:02 -- My only non-genre credit to date. A first date between
two young lovers.
Car Service-- nanobison recently put up this story of a professional gambler who
gets stuck in a situation that's a bit over his head... a couple of times.

The Department of Off World Affairs -- This novel is upcoming from Silverthought Press. It tells the story
of what happens after the Earth realizes it's been in a protective cocoon for all of human history. Now,
with the barrier broken, we meet all manner of alien visitors, some curious, some greedy, and some simply
evil. It follows the paths of four main characters: the astronomer who discovered the barrier, an Air Force
pilot who becomes a military expert on off world threats, a scientist who helps to develop the technology
that will bring humanity to the stars, and an alien entrepreneur whose motives remain a mystery.
